WIOA Eligibility Questionnaire
Step 1:
You need to create an account to begin your eligibility process.
Log onto caljobs.ca.gov to register and create an account.
- Go to: 'Update Your Resume' on the homepage.
- Create an 'INDIVIDUAL' user account.
- Complete the personal information fields to finish registration.
Return here and hit the "next button" after you have created your account.
Step 2:
The next step is to fill out the intake form:
Training & Job Search Services (WIOA) Intake Form
Visit the nearest WIOA career center closest to you and let them know you need some assistance to see if you are eligible for the WIOA grant. In addition, let them know that you have completed your CalJobs and initital eligibility online already.
Step 3:
Items to bring when you're ready to attend your intake eligibility meeting:
- U.S. Passport OR
- Driver's License or ID Card AND U.S. Social Security Card OR
- Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card
- If receiving Unemployment, bring your (Claim Filed and Award Letter) those two docs, were included in the first envelope received from the unemployment office.
- If receiving CalFresh, TANF, or Welfare, bring the verification letter with the monthly income.
- If you are a Veteran, please bring your DD-214.
- All males need their Selective Service Letter, available for download at this link: https://sss.gov/verify/
- If receiving Social Security benefits - Award Letter from the Social Security Admiistration
- If working - Paystubs for past 6 months or most recent with Year-to-Date Earnings. NOTE: If providing paystubs proof of family size may be required (i.e., children's birth certificate, marriage license (if married), spouse's paystubs (if also working)
- Take pictures of all documents - you will be asked to upload them using your phone.
*If you are Military or Military Spouse or in the foster care system, inform your counselor as you will receive priority processing.
Please have the following items required for Eligibility ready for upload:
- Unexpired Picture ID (US Passport, Driver's License, State ID, Resident Alien Card)
- If you are Male born after 12/31/1959, proof of Selective Service Registration, please access link to download your proof of registration (https://www.sss.gov/verify).
- Proof of income for the past six months
- If receiving Public Assistance - Current documentation of receiving public assistance.
- If receiving Unemployment Insurance - EDD Notice of Unemployment Insurance Claim Filed & EDD Notice of Unemployment Award Letter
Step 4:
Now that you have completed your CalJobs and Intake Forms, please visit a Career Center location. WIOA offers walk-in Eligibility at all 4 Career Centers:
